# ChatGPT and Claude for studying, with your real progress Source: https://www.pupilbot.com/ai-for-studying Full agent brief: https://www.pupilbot.com/llms.txt A chatbot knows only what you paste into it. Connect PupilBot, and ChatGPT or Claude can read what you studied, which questions you missed, what is due for review and how your accuracy changes. Then it can help you decide what to study next. ## How it works 1. **Study in PupilBot.** Photograph your notes or import a PDF. PupilBot writes the questions, grades your answers and schedules reviews with spaced repetition. 2. **Connect your AI.** Add the PupilBot MCP server (https://www.pupilbot.com/mcp) to ChatGPT, Claude, Claude Code or Codex, then sign in and approve. It takes about two minutes and needs no API key. 3. **Ask about your progress.** Ask which topics you keep missing, what is due today or how your week went. Your AI reads your real answers instead of guessing. ## A worked example Every new account starts with a demo study. Answer a few of its questions, and your AI can read each one back: the question, your answer, the correct answer and the source line it came from. > Sleep is not just a period of rest. While you sleep, the brain continues to process information from the day. It strengthens useful connections, organizes new memories, and makes some information easier to recall later. ## Questions to ask your AI - "Which topics am I weakest on, and what do my mistakes have in common?" - "Explain the questions I got wrong this week, one by one." - "What is due for review today, and what can wait?" - "How has my accuracy changed over the last month?" - "Turn these lecture notes into a new PupilBot study." ### What your AI can read - Your studies and their topics, each topic with a stage: untested, learning, covered or retained. - Every answer you gave, with the correct answer, the feedback and the source line — or only your mistakes. - The concepts you keep missing, and the topics with the weakest recall. - Reviews due now and in the next 24 hours, plus your accuracy per day and your streak. Setup takes about two minutes: https://www.pupilbot.com/mcp. ### What it does not do Your AI reads your record and can create a study from text. It cannot answer questions for you, change your scores or delete anything. You still practise in the web app, the iPhone app or on Telegram, so your record stays honest. ## Frequently asked questions 1. **How do I use ChatGPT for studying my own notes?** Add your notes to PupilBot and practise there. Then connect ChatGPT through the PupilBot MCP server. ChatGPT then answers from your real answers and mistakes, not only from what you paste into the chat. 2. **How is this different from ChatGPT study mode or Claude learning mode?** Those modes change how the chatbot teaches inside one conversation. PupilBot keeps a record that lasts across sessions — every answer, mistake and review date — and your AI can read that record in any chat. 3. **Which AI apps work with PupilBot?** ChatGPT, Claude (web, desktop and mobile), Claude Code, Codex, and any other app that supports remote MCP servers with OAuth sign-in. 4. **Can my AI see my photos or other students' data?** No. It sees only your own account: study titles, topics, questions, your answers and your progress. It never sees your photos, and you can disconnect it in Settings at any time. 5. **Do I need a paid ChatGPT or Claude plan?** You need an app that lets you add a custom MCP connector or server. OpenAI and Anthropic decide which of their plans allow that. Claude Code and Codex connect from the terminal. 6. **Is it free?** PupilBot is free to start. A paid subscription unlocks more usage; web, iPhone and Telegram use the same account. ## Related - https://www.pupilbot.com/mcp - https://www.pupilbot.com/pdf-to-flashcards - https://www.pupilbot.com/notes-to-quiz - https://www.pupilbot.com/image-to-flashcards - https://www.pupilbot.com/ai-quiz-generator - https://www.pupilbot.com/spaced-repetition-study-app - https://www.pupilbot.com/ Also in Spanish, French, German, Italian and Romanian at /es/ai-for-studying, /fr/ai-for-studying, /de/ai-for-studying, /it/ai-for-studying and /ro/ai-for-studying.
