# PupilBot changelog What changed in [PupilBot](https://www.pupilbot.com/), newest first. Each entry says what is different for you as a student. Version numbers belong to the web app and the server behind it; the iPhone app has its own version numbers in the App Store. Changes that only touch how we run the service are left out, and a release with nothing else says so in one line. ## 2026-10-15 · v1.14.0 - Error reports from the iPhone app are now grouped by screen and message. Two different problems on the same screen no longer hide behind one report, so we see and fix both. Nothing changes in how you study. ## 2026-10-15 · v1.13.0 - Settings now lists what a membership includes: how many new studies you can add per day and per month, how many pages each study can hold, and that one membership covers the web, the iPhone app and Telegram. - On the free plan, Settings says plainly what your free shelf holds. - The study panel on the web has a Close button, so you can get back to your shelf without hunting for a way out. ## 2026-10-15 · v1.12.0 - Shelf, Connect and Settings on the web now match the Desk: one calm dark room, studies drawn as books, fewer boxes and lines. - Connect puts the two things you can link side by side: Telegram for a few questions a day, and your AI assistant (Claude, ChatGPT or Codex) for questions about your progress. - Settings shows your plan, a Help section, and Sign out and Delete account on the page itself. Deleting your account asks you to confirm first and erases your studies, questions, answers and progress. ## 2026-10-15 · v1.11.0 - The web dashboard uses more of a wide screen, and the Desk greeting is easier to read. ## 2026-10-15 · v1.10.0 - Questions are matched to your level more accurately. PupilBot used to rely on the difficulty label each question was written with, and that label turned out to predict very little. It now estimates difficulty from the question format and from how often students actually miss it. - Review timing follows the reference version of the spaced-repetition method (FSRS) more closely, so cards you keep getting right are spaced out the way the method intends. - The "due" count no longer includes cards your app cannot show. On iPhone, which has no matching questions yet, the number now matches what you can practise. - An answer that was corrected after a grade check no longer counts in your study's progress. - Grade checks and follow-up questions to the tutor are now limited per student instead of one limit shared by everyone, so someone else's busy hour cannot block yours. - Disconnecting an AI app, signing out everywhere or resetting your password now always cuts connected AI apps off at once, even if one was refreshing its access at that moment. ## 2026-10-15 · v1.9.0 - When something breaks in the web app, PupilBot now hears about it automatically and we fix it sooner. A report carries the error message, the screen and the page address without its query string. Emails, passwords and sign-in tokens are scrubbed out before anything is stored. ## 2026-10-14 · v1.7.0 and v1.8.0: the Desk - Home is now your Desk. It greets you, shows how many cards are due today and which topics keep slipping, and starts today's session in one tap. - Your studies sit on a shelf under the desk, and a study being read shows as such until its questions are ready. - A new desk shows the three ways to add material side by side: photograph pages, load a PDF, or paste text. - In the PDF page picker, choosing more pages than the free plan allows now explains the limit and keeps your selection, instead of leaving you guessing. ## 2026-10-13 · v1.2.0 to v1.6.0 - A page with far more text than a page normally holds is now cut at a fixed limit, and your study tells you which pages were cut, so you know to photograph them one at a time. - After an update, your browser loads the new styles and images straight away instead of a stale cached copy. - The study background is drawn without a large image, so the app loads less on every visit. - Members no longer see the free-plan page notice. ## 2026-10-12 · Ask your AI about your studying - Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Codex or another assistant that supports MCP, and ask it about your own record: what is due, which topics and concepts you keep missing, how your accuracy moved, and which answers you got wrong. Reading your record runs no AI model on our side. See [the connect page](https://www.pupilbot.com/mcp) and [AI for studying](https://www.pupilbot.com/ai-for-studying). - Your AI can still create a study from text it already has. Practice itself stays in the web app, the iPhone app or Telegram. - Plugins for Claude Code and Codex add ready-made requests: a study report, what is due today, and making a study. - You can see and disconnect connected AI apps in Settings at any time. - Question writing, question checking, grading and tutor replies moved to a new AI model after side-by-side tests on real study material. Tutor replies come back faster. ## 2026-09-19 · Sign-up with an email code - New accounts confirm their email with a short code before the account is created. ## 2026-09-18 · Two free PDF tools - [Images to PDF](https://www.pupilbot.com/images-to-pdf) combines your photos into one PDF in the order you choose. It runs in your browser, nothing is uploaded, and you need no account. - [Extract PDF pages](https://www.pupilbot.com/extract-pdf-pages) saves a page, a page range or a whole chapter from a PDF's bookmarks as a new PDF, with text and graphics intact. Also in your browser, also without an account. - Plans now set clear limits on how many studies you can add per day and per month. ## 2026-09-14 to 2026-09-17 · Better reading of your photos - Photos are read at their full resolution. Shrinking them first had been damaging handwriting and small print. - If a photo is too blurry or distant to read reliably, the study now fails with a request for clearer pages, instead of asking you questions about garbled words. - Occasionally the reader repeats a line hundreds of times on one page. Those repeats are now removed before questions are written, and a page that is nothing but repeats is treated as unread. - When some pages of a study could not be read, you can retry just those pages. Your questions and answers stay. A page that fails again is set aside, so you are not asked to retry it forever. - A study that comes out with too few questions now tries more topics before it gives up, and tells you why if it does. ## 2026-09-12 · Questions and grades you can trust - Every question now quotes the passage of your material it was written from, and that quote must really appear in your pages. - A second check reviews each batch of questions before you see them and drops ones with a wrong answer key, a second correct option, or an unclear wording. - If you think a grade is wrong, "Check this grade against the source" asks for a second look. If the answer key itself was wrong, the question is removed for everyone; if your answer was in fact right, that grade no longer counts against you. - If grading is briefly unavailable, your answer is not marked wrong: you are asked to send it again. - On the web, practice comes in sessions of 10 questions with a summary at the end. Maths, code and tables display properly, and matching questions work on the web. - A topic only counts as mastered once you have answered a range of its questions correctly and still remember them at least a day later. - Generated illustrations are gone. They appeared on few questions and were the ones students flagged most often. ## 2026-08-27 · Public study sets - You can publish a study as a public quiz page with its own link. It shows the questions, answers and explanations, never your photos or notes, and you can unpublish it again. ## 2026-08-26 · Sign in with Google - You can sign in with your Google account on the web. ## 2026-08-25 · Paste text as a study - Besides photos and PDFs, you can paste text, such as slides, a summary or your typed notes, and turn it into a study. ## 2026-08-23 · Support chat - You can message a person from inside the web app and get the reply in the same place. ## 2026-08-21 · Connect your AI assistant (first version) - The first version of the AI connection: an assistant that supports MCP could sign in with your PupilBot account, create a study from text and check on your studies. It was rebuilt on 2026-10-12 (see above). ## 2026-08-17 to 2026-08-18 · PDF import - Load a PDF and pick single pages, a page range, or a whole chapter from the PDF's outline, with page previews, up to 50 pages per study. - On the web, pages that already contain real text are read straight from the file, which is faster and avoids reading errors.
