AI quiz generator

An AI quiz generator that starts from your own pages

Not a quiz bank. Bring your notes, a chapter or a handout and PupilBot generates the quiz from exactly that — then tracks what you know, topic by topic.

A study in PupilBot: the topics found in the material, each with a mastery bar, and a Practice button
Every study lists the topics found in your pages, each with its own mastery score.

How it works

  1. Choose your source

Photograph pages, import a PDF, or paste text. Developers and AI agents can also create a study through the MCP server.

  2. Generation, topic by topic

PupilBot first identifies the topics in your material and weights them by importance, then writes questions for each — so the quiz covers the whole material, not just the first page.

  3. Adaptive practice and mastery

Each answer updates your mastery for that topic and the schedule for that question. Weak topics come up more often; known ones come back later.

A worked example

A complete study, topic by topic. The excerpt is the source text; everything after it was built from that text.

This is the demo study every new PupilBot account starts with: a short text, and the flash cards and questions built from it — the same shapes the generator produces for your own pages.

Source text (excerpt)

Sleep is not just a period of rest. While you sleep, the brain continues to process information from the day. It strengthens useful connections, organizes new memories, and makes some information easier to recall later.

What makes it different from a quiz maker

Frequently asked questions

Can I generate a quiz from just a topic name, without material?

No. PupilBot generates from pages you supply — that is what keeps the questions specific to what you are actually studying.

Can I fix or flag a bad question?

You can flag a question that is wrong or unclear from the practice screen; flags feed back into how the generator is tuned.

Which languages can it generate in?

By default, questions are written in the language you use the app in. Turn on “Generate questions in the study's language” when you create the study to keep the material's own language. The app is available in English, Spanish, French, German, Italian and Romanian.

Does it explain the answers?

Yes. Every question carries an explanation, and written answers get feedback on what was missing.

Can ChatGPT or Claude use it?

Yes. PupilBot has an MCP server: a connected agent can create a study from text it already has and read back your mastery. See Connect PupilBot to Claude, ChatGPT or Codex (MCP).

Is it free?

PupilBot is free to start. A paid subscription unlocks more usage; the web app, the iPhone app and the Telegram bot all use the same account.
